Untimely spring or fall freezes can damage your irrigation system and destroy your backflow preventer. The built-in relief valve will allow expanded water to escape the cavity of the valve as water temperature falls to 32 degrees or slightly lower, allowing the customer additional time to properly winterize and insulate the vacuum breaker. Avoid costly valve or parts replacement by using the Wilkins Model 420 Pressure Vacuum Breaker.
