SuperStand Sprinkler: Testimonials

Convenience and cost-effectiveness steered John Bagley toward the SuperStand Sprinkler system when he decided to replace the hand lines on his piece of hybrid grass seed ground. "It's a relatively inexpensive system to put in and it's easy to move around," explained Bagley, a cow-calf rancher who also irrigates hay and pasture on his place near Koosharem, Utah. But cost wasn't the sole factor that influenced John's decision, obviously, since hand lines were already available and paid for. The other factor, as Bagley is quick to point out, makes itself readily apparent in the field. "Ease of movement is probably the big selling point. We'd rather move these SuperStand Sprinklers than hand lines; the kids can do it."

Rancher

"The SuperStand Sprinkler is easier to move through corn than I thought they would be," said grower Abraham Allen. "We just fold the legs and carry them to the next coupler and plug them in."

"I use the system myself. It's probably the first innovative thing that anyone has done with hand-move sprinklers in the last 20 years... Areas where pipe is clumsy to use, the SuperStand Sprinkler gives you complete flexibility."

"SuperStand Sprinkler systems are versatile and suitable in numerous situations...they are among the most practical systems for small and/or irregular shaped fields anywhere."

The Benson Institute uses the SuperStand Sprinkler and former director Dr. Laren R. Robinson heartily endorses the system for small-scale agricultural applications. "It's ideal," he said, "for the small farmer who can't invest a lot of money."

Nevada Reclamation Project
Desert heat, wind, and a very limited water supply added up to some interesting design challenges on the Nevada reclamation project. "We had to make sure the system could easily be moved from one location to another and still adapt to new conditions. Several design scenarios were considered in order to meet the stringent spacing, uniformity, efficiency, and adaptability requirements in the contract. The SuperStand Sprinkler system was not only the best choice on paper, but after the first year of use, another 500 stand system was specified and shipped to accommodate the expanding reclamation project."
